Founded by David Maschmeier in 2022, Yule Sober Living is a 501C3 non-profit, created to provide a safe and secure space for LGBTQIA+ people to further their recovery after treatment. Being a non-profit allows people of our community to secure affordable, quality housing with like-minded individuals.

"In loving memory of Derrick Adam Yule, my cherished best friend, confidant, and brother. We've amassed a wealth of memories together—exploring the wonders of Mexico, losing track of time during our lengthy phone conversations, and indulging in nights out, seeking mischief wherever it may be found. We moved to Dallas in 2015, embarking on a journey filled with laughter, dreams, and unwavering support. Derrick's enduring presence was a beacon of strength during my darkest hours, his unwavering loyalty a testament to his remarkable character. Yet, in January of 2021, fate stole him away from us prematurely. Determined to honor his legacy, I've founded a non-profit in his name, ensuring his spirit and kindness continue to illuminate the lives of others. Though he may be physically absent, Derrick's love and impact will forever resonate in our hearts. Rest peacefully, dear friend."
